ASOPLAD was created in 2008 as a non-profit, guild-based, and associative entity composed of natural and/or legal individuals involved in the production, processing, and/or marketing of bananas and their derivatives in the municipality of Dosquebradas and surrounding geographic areas.

In 2018, a decade after its inception, it reactivated its services and introduced new products to the market in pursuit of fulfilling its social mission and ensuring the organization's sustainability. Currently, ASOPLAD has 40 members located in rural areas, the districts of Alto del Nudo, and Las Marcadas in the municipality of Dosquebradas. The organization continues to work closely with the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Development of the municipality to promote continuous improvement, growth, and development of the banana production chain in the region.

Currently, the organization is involved in various projects, including:

• Technical and business support provided by Asohofrucol
