DESCRIPTION AND HISTORY
ASOPROPLAC La Celia is a non-profit legal social organization with over 25 years of experience in the field of the solidarity economy. Through our efforts as producers, we have made banana cultivation the second most productive sector in the municipality, thus revitalizing our economy and community development. We are present in 24 out of the 26 neighborhoods in the municipality.
We officially registered with the "Camara de Comercio" in 2002.
From 1994 to 2011, we made several unsuccessful attempts at block marketing.
In 2011, we formed our first productive alliance with 56 beneficiaries, securing more than $150 million and initiating a more stable block marketing process.
In 2018, we established our second productive alliance, benefiting 130 individuals with over $1.2 billion in resources.
In 2019, we acquired agricultural machinery worth 28 million pesos through collaboration with the municipal and gubernatorial authorities.
As of 2021, our organization boasts 180 members, including 20% women and 12% young people.
