DESCRIPTION AND HISTORY
MIRACOOP is a multi-activity cooperative that, within its social mission, provides the means for the productive and commercial development of informal miners as an alternative for safer and more sustainable income. To achieve this, it promotes the creation of working groups based on productive affinity. Currently, it has groups of pig farmers who also produce corn for pig, chicken, and hen feed, poultry farmers, fish farmers, coffee growers, and a group of women producing plantain chips.
The cooperative was established in 2019 with the aim of collectively strengthening agro-miners through productive development in alignment with the traditional vocation of the influenced rural areas. Just three months after its creation, the COVID-19 health crisis emerged, significantly hindering the cooperative's intended objectives. Since April of the current year, efforts have been focused on working with the social base to impart the necessary skills for effective management. Simultaneously, legal, financial, organizational, administrative, and tax logistics have been under management to ensure that the cooperative can operate in compliance with all the requirements mandated by Colombian law.
