DESCRIPTION AND HISTORY
Production and distribution of pre-cooked arepas.
Deliarepa was founded in 1995 as a family venture. It was officially registered with the Chamber of Commerce on September 18, 2000. Its initial target market was families and end consumers, who were directly served by Mr. Delio Castañeda. He, along with his brother, manufactured and distributed the arepas.
In 2004, Mr. Delio partnered with Mrs. Nancy Marín and Mrs. Beatriz Aricapa, both industrial economics professionals. They established two areas of operation: production and commercial. Mr. Delio, along with Nancy Marín, worked on improving production processes and addressing legal aspects such as Invima sanitary registration, barcoding, accounting, and tax procedures. Mrs. Beatriz and Nancy focused on marketing, expanding the market, especially in the door-to-door sales. This phase continued until 2015, during which they acquired their own production facility, a fleet of six motorcycles with corresponding cargo vans for distribution along four commercial routes, covering Pereira, Dosquebradas, Cartago, and La Virginia. They also established a strong presence in the door-to-door market and ventured into the institutional market.
In 2016, Nancy and Beatriz dissolved their informal partnership. From this point onwards, Deliarepa operated under the concept of unified production, distribution, and administration. They upgraded their plant equipment, machinery, and transportation, expanded their routes, and gained institutional clients while maintaining Invima quality standards and implementing a Safety and Health at Work Management System (SG-SST).
