Café Don Julio was born in 1987 when the Gonzalez Grisales Family became the owners of a small plot of land in the Santa Rita area of Santa Rosa de Cabal. Since that year, one of their sons (DON JULIO) dreamt of continuing his father's legacy by cultivating and processing coffee (in 1987, it was roasted in oil drums over a wood fire).

In 2010, the coffee roasting process was modernized at the facilities of ORGANIZACIÓN DON JULIO in Santa Rosa de Cabal.

Although this coffee bears the name of its founder, Don Julio has a strong female component, as a significant part of its administrative and operational team consists of coffee-loving women raised in the coffee region. They are experts in agronomic and industrial tasks, trained by mentors who have visited our country and fallen in love with Santa Rosa de Cabal in Risaralda.

A coffee is special because of the conditions in which it is grown, and, of course, also by the way it is sourced, processed, prepared, and marketed.

One of the flags of this team, in addition to selecting the best coffee from the region to always offer a SPECIAL coffee, is to strive for greater gender equality and equity on coffee farms. It is well-known that women face difficulties in performing coffee harvesting and processing tasks because it has traditionally been seen as a male-dominated field.

By transcending these paradigms, Café Don Julio aims to establish itself as a brand that cares about the sustainability of the coffee business in the region and the development of its communities.
