In 2017, through a project of the Special Administrative Unit for Solidarity Organizations (UAEOS) of the Ministry of Labor, through a program to strengthen, accompany and create organizations (associations, cooperatives, foundations, etc.), the initiative was taken to participate in the UAEOS program to attend training in solidarity economy.

By 2018, 23 people were certified in solidarity economy, which opened the doors for the creation of a cooperative with people eligible to belong to it. This was created with clear and precise objectives of achieving in the future the creation of an agro-industrial company for banana processing. A creation assembly was called, approving the bylaws and electing the members of the board of directors and the different committees.

Subsequently, the company was registered with the Chamber of Commerce and the DIAN. An initiative was taken to transform the plantain into flour, with the support of entities such as the government and the Mayor's Office of Belén de Umbría, initiating a learning process that has made it possible to manufacture the product on a smaller scale. At present, the presentation and manufacturing process is being perfected in order to enter regional, national, and international markets in the future.
